A clear form of exercise and enjoyment, dancing helps to increase self-confidence, balance/co-ordination, and self discipline. Good posture, which is vital for healthy lungs and bones, is commonly known as the ‘Dancers Poise’. The flexibility attained over time helps to prevent pain and stiffness in joints and encourages a general fitness. Each class offers a challenge, leading to an achievement. Dancers learn to work both as team members, and alone. All of which are attributes to be carried throughout life.

The School is aware of the importance placed on Health & Safety issues and takes the responsibility seriously. Pupils are also advised of such safety precautions and to treat them with respect. As with all physical activity under-taken by children, thought is always given by the Teacher to the growth and development of muscle and bones. This attention to technique and strength continues throughout a dancer's life. Louise has been police checked and passed the Criminal Records Bureau check. Within the next year a Licensing system is being introduced as part of the Child Protection scheme. Louise will be participating with this and registering with the Council of Dance Education. In keeping with the Child Protection act. pupil's personal details are not stored on a computer.

All classes are conducted by the Principal and take place in the main hall. There is a changing area available adjoined. Pupils are requested to arrive a few minutes prior to the start of class to be dressed and ready. At the end of each academic year, each pupil will receive a brief progress report. This is to keep parents informed of development and examination syllabi. Louise believes in creating a relaxed, enjoyable and instructive atmosphere. Discipline, respect and courtesy towards staff, and fellow pupils are central values. |

The first class is free, allowing children to experience the atmosphere. If they are happy and wish to continue, you will be asked to complete a Registration Form. The balance of the current term fee is payable before the next lesson. The number of pupils in each class is monitored closely, therefore, in some cases they may be required to enrol on the waiting list for the following term. Parents are politely requested to wait in the changing area during class. A bond between teacher and pupil is very important and begins from the moment the two meet. Little ones may become hesitant in un-familiar surroundings. If a child becomes distressed the teacher will invite his or her parent into class. In this situation, it is important the parent 'takes a back seat’ to support awareness of the teacher. Once their child is settled and relaxed it will be possible for them to creep back to the waiting area. It is important to remember all children are different and some may take longer than others to fully settle in.
